There are apparently no extensions too long for Kylie Jenner. After just a week with a blonde bob, Calabasas's youngest soon-to-be billionaire has switched up her look yet again with waist-length hair extensions.
Jenner's short 10 days as a 21-year-old have been spent as a platinum blonde. “Kylie is her own person — the whole idea — it’s not the predicted icy blonde. It’s a real transformation, but it’s really golden. She likes to have fun with her hair. She’s been dark for a while, so it was time to change it up,” her stylist Chris Appleton told Allure of the change. This time around, she kept the color and increased the length, from just above her shoulders to waist-grazing. Kylie is clearly feeling herself — she shared photos of her new hair on Instagram over the weekend, paired with a deep red Alexander Wang minidress.
The new inches are a throwback to last week when Jenner sported a slicked-back, waist-length pony for her Barbie-themed 21st birthday party. According to Refinery29, that one night of hair cost between $6,000 and $8,000 dollars. "It's Slavic hair sourced from Russia. There's nothing better than that hair because it's the only hair that doesn't need to be bleached and processed so many times, or even toned and glossed — it's naturally already highlighted," her stylist Violet Teriti explained. Teriti explains that she used a weft ("hair that's been sewn together by a machine, then cut up into sections," says Refinery29), which helps to maintain thickness when you're going extra-long with your fake hair. According to Teriti, Chris Appleton reached out to her to request custom hair for the birthday party.
We can't be sure that this is the exact same hair she wore on her birthday, it would make sense for her to rewear it. It did cost four figures after all. In the meantime, we'll just continue to enjoy Jenner's frequent hair transformations.
