For Miley Cyrus, 28, hot girl summer isn’t a time of year—it’s a state of mind. The “Midnight Sky” singer is gearing up for a summer full of live shows and posting all about it on her Instagram.
Her latest Instagram Story shows Miley glowing in a bright green string bikini selfie. Her abs look beyond toned. “It’s been a hot girl summer for like 3 years straight,” she captioned the photo. “No breaks,” she added before tagging Megan Thee Stallion.
Miley has always been super honest about her gym routine, and she loves posting progress pics and videos on her Instagram. So what’s her six-pack secret?
For starters, Miley swears by Ashtanga yoga. “The thing about Ashtanga yoga is that sometimes it can be really uninspiring because the teacher will say, ‘Oh, don’t worry that’s just going to take you 10 years [to get], and you’re like ‘Wait, what?'” she told Jimmy Fallon, mentioning how difficult Ashtanga poses can be.
She’s also a big Pilates fan, which is known for seriously abs-sculpting exercises. At one point, Miley told Harper’s Bazaar Australia that she was doing Pilates daily (that’s some serious commitment!). She even installed a Pilates studio in her home so she could work on her core without leaving her house.
For cardio, Miley likes to run on the treadmill. Sometimes, she sings while she runs to help build stamina (she’s posted a few of these workouts on her IG). She’s also been known to do squats while she sings to help ease the stress on her vocal cords. Basically, she’s the queen of multitasking.
As far as her diet goes, Miley used to be vegan, but she switched to a more pescatarian diet when she realized she was missing some key nutrients. “I’ve had to introduce fish and omegas into my life because my brain wasn’t functioning properly,” she said on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast. “Now I’m so much sharper than I was and I think that I was, at one point, pretty malnutritioned.”
“I’m experimenting a lot with my diet, and my body, and my routine and my exercise right now,” Miley added. Clearly, she’s found the perfect combo that works for her.
