Salami Roses Are Here To Take Your Charcuterie Boards To The Next Level
We could talk about charcuterie boards for days – breakfast charcuterie boards, pancake charcuterie boards, and even mini charcuterie jars – the list is endless. But sometimes the best option is the simplest: a delectable combination of cheese, fresh fruit, crunchy crackers, and mouthwatering meat slices perfectly arrange to make even the fullest friend take a bite.
While creating the ideal balance of salty and sweet flavours with a pop of colour and accompaniments is an art in itself, we have a new hack for the pros wanting to dial it up a level: introducing salami roses.
In a tutorial video shared by Janelle Elise Flom (@janelleelise), this mouth-watering floral involves folding slices of salami on top of each other in a Champagne flute, flipping the glass over, and allowing your salami rose to elevates the look of your cheese board. It’s as easy as that!

Not sure where to start? Here are some simple tips for nailing the basic:
1. Chose ingredients for each category that complement each other.
For instance, charcuterie boards should have soft, easy-to-grab meats on it that are already sliced (like prosciutto or jamón Ibérico), in addition to harder meats that need cutting (like a log of salami or soppressata).
2. Add your dips
I like to have a range of flavours and colours so guests have a few different options. French onion and Tzatziki are good basics, while beetroot and sweet potato as beautiful pop of colour.
3. Decorate with all the accents.
We’re talking crackers, jam, bread, pickles, fruit, honeycomb and whatever else you fancy.
4. Lay it out
In terms of presentation, you’ll need a flat surface to serve everything on, like a pretty wooden butcher block or a marble cutting board. Tiny tags for each component are both cute and helpful, while little bowls and plates used to hold preserves or fruit can add color and dimension to the spread.
