Watch the World's Strongest Man Lift Rob Gronkowski Over His Head

The 2019 World’s Strongest Man winner, Martins Licis, overhead squatted Rob Gronkowski—because why the hell not?

The two were working out at Unbreakable Performance, an elite training studio on the Sunset Strip, when the strongest man in the world picked up Gronk and pressed him over his head. Gronk reportedly weighs about 245 pounds, even after retiring from playing tight end for the New England Patriots earlier this year.

According to Licis’ Instagram post, the two were working on their shoulders (i.e., rotators).

Licis, who weighs 331 pounds, has shoulder pressed far more than 245 pounds—here’s a video of the beast successfully completing a 200kg (roughly 441lb) overhead press—but there are additional challenges that come from lifting a human. Of course, human weight isn’t evenly distributed, and unlike when lifting weights, you can’t simply throw the person you’re carrying to the floor when done. (Well, I guess you could, but you’d be a real asshole.)

You can tell by Licis’ face in the photo, he’s really concentrating as to not injure the former Pat’s player. And Gronk’s face, well… it’s clear no one has ever lifted him like this before.

In another photo on Instagram, Gronk posted a pic of the two flexing together. Gronk’s arms and entire body look tiny next to Licic’s hulking physique. It just goes to show you how truly massive the current strongest man alive truly is.
