The Rock Shared One More Look at His Impressively Shredded Black Adam Physique

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson isn’t just taking his gains to the next level as he wraps up filming on DC’s superhero franchise Black Adam. Yesterday, The Rock shared one more triumphant behind-the-scenes look at his impressively shredded physique—and the special effects the studio is deploying to highlight every last one of those muscle fibers.

In the post, Johnson explained that Black Adam director Jaume Collet Serra designed a new type of “Phantom” camera equipped with a “Bolt” robot arm capable of shooting at 960 frames per second, the fastest in the world. (Typically, movies are shot at about 24 frames per second.)

That’s not the only leading-edge technology DC is putting behind the production, either. Last week, Johnson shared that the movie will also feature a special CGI effect designed to make his muscles look even more rippling and intimidating during some of the movie’s key fight scenes.

(Judging by the accompanying photo, which features Johnson in character as Black Adam and screaming with rage as veins pop out all over his body, he doesn’t seem to need much help with the intimidation part.)

Johnson concluded his post with a nod to Black Adam’s origin story that may provide some context to the mood of the photo. “If you know the comic mythology of Black Adam, then you know his rage comes from pain. His pain comes from the loss of his wife and children,” he wrote. “He is now the most unstoppable force in the DC universe or ANY endgame universe.”

Black Adam is currently scheduled to be released in July 2022.
