Kaley Cuoco’s Husband Is Definitely Not Using Her For Her Money
Kaley Cuoco recently declared to Women’s Health that she doesn’t need her husband Karl Cook “for anything.”
“If Karl left me tomorrow, I’d be fine. And he knows that, and he would be fine too,” she said.
But don’t worry: That doesn’t mean she’s not really, really into him. “I like to tell my friends, ‘Always make sure you have your life going, and that you’re number one, so that anyone who comes into it—husband, or boyfriend, or girlfriend, however you roll—that’s just an added bonus to something you’re already creating.’”
Kaley and Karl just got married in June, and it’s completely fair if you’re kind of fuzzy on who, exactly, he is. Here’s what you need to know, plus a little look back at their relationship.

Karl is actually a BFD in the equestrian world, and he regularly competes in—and wins—competitions. In 2016, Karl and his horse Farrari won the blue ribbon in the SmartPak Grand Prix (prize money: $25,500) and the UltrOz Jumper (prize money: $15,000), per E! News.
Karl comes from a pretty wealthy family, too: His dad Scott Cook is worth around $2 billion, according to Forbes. (Scott founded Intuit, the tax software company.)
Karl isn’t just all about horses, though. He once told Phelps Sports, “I enjoy photography and whenever I take a trip anywhere I usually take my camera with me. I am also into making bowls, cups, tables and many other things on a wood lathe. I call it ‘lazy turning.’ Instead of having to move a carving tool around and carve into wood I just sit there and hold a tool under the wood as the machine turns the wood.”
Now, back to Karl and Kaley…

Kaley shared a pretty coupley-looking photo of the two of them doing what appeared to be sport-shooting. She’s looking all serious, and he’s sticking his tongue onto her forehead. You know, normal couple stuff.
Kaley later told Women’s Health that they met at a horse show, and Karl had no idea who she was. “It was great because he never kissed my ass at all, and he never cared about any of that,” she said. “He loved that I loved horses. It became a big talking point for us.”

Kaley’s divorce from tennis player Ryan Sweeting was finalized in May, and in September, she and Karl hit the red carpet for the Longines Masters Los Angeles Gala.
Earlier that month, Kaley went on The Talk and gushed about Karl. “I’m so happy. I can’t stop smiling. Life is so so good,” she said, per People.

One of Kaley’s most famous exes is her Big Bang Theory costar Johnny Galecki, and clearly Karl is in with him. Kaley posted a photo on Instagram of her ex and her then-BF goofing off on set together.

Kaley’s buddy and 8 Simple Rules costar Amy Davidson told Entertainment Tonight that things were pretty serious between Karl and Kaley. “Karl is great. He’s exactly who you see,” she said. “He loves cooking and he’s gentle and he’s a kind person. I’m really happy because she deserves to be treated well.”
When asked whether she thought Karl could be “The One,” Amy said, “I hope so! I do, yeah.”

Karl proposed on Kaley’s 32nd birthday, and he shared a video on Instagram of her crying hysterically. “Well after nearly two years I finally got up the courage to ask her to marry me,” he captioned the video. “This is the best night of my life and I think the video shows it is the best night for Kaley as well… if she said yes!”
He later told People that he treated Kaley to a romantic candlelit dinner at their home. He made the meal himself and served all her favorite foods, including Moose Tracks ice cream.

They exchanged “I dos” in a horse stable, People reports, and it was officiated by Kaley’s sister Briana. They also delivered their own wedding vows, and Kaley wore a bridal jumpsuit to the reception.

Just days after their wedding, Kaley had surgery on her shoulder. “For everyone asking, because everyone’s been so sweet and worried about me, this is a planned surgery I’ve had for over a year,” she revealed on Instagram Stories, per ET. “I hurt it over a year ago, did not need immediate surgery. So, I brilliantly planned it five days after our wedding. Right, babe?”
She also shared multiple photos and videos of Karl hilariously attempting to do her hair for her. “All I’m asking for is a top knot ponytail,” she said, as Karl did his best comply. “No, I want a top knot bun. Please don’t mess this up.”
