This Is Why Lauren Conrad Won’t Be ‘Bouncing Back’ To Her Pre-Baby Body

At just seven months postpartum, Lauren Conrad is still pretty new to motherhood.

But when it comes to adjusting to her new lifestyle (and figure), she’s got the wisdom of someone who’s been at a lot longer.

“I’ve realised that by body will never go back to what it was,” she recently Shape. “It’s interesting because it’s something I was actually kind of worried about before getting pregnant – I thought it was going to be very difficult for me to adjust to my new body, because I obviously didn’t just expect to bounce back.”

The 32-year-old gained almost 16kg while pregnant with her son Liam James. And while she’s nearly back to her pre-pregnancy weight – thanks to her affinity for boot camp-style fitness classes, strength training and hiking – she’s embracing her new-found curves.

“Even though I look a little different I’m just so in awe of the fact that I was able to make a person. So I’m proud of my body in that way.”

“I’m not so critical of my flaws because, big picture, it was a very small price to pay. I was much kinder to myself than I expected to be.”

Being a parent has also prompted The Hills star to rethink her approach to exercise. These days, she’s all about multi-tasking.

“If I’m going to workout, I always do it with a girlfriend,” she said. “If I’m able to catch up with a friend and get in that time while also being active, that’s always a win.”

She also makes sure to take time out for herself whenever she needs it – whether it’s long bath or simply putting on a face mask. It’s these moments that provide Lauren with clarity on what really matters in life and allow her to be fully present when she’s with her son.

“Most nights I take an epsom salt bath and just take my quiet time once my kid goes down. I do like adding lavender oil to relax, or sometimes if I just worked out and am sore I’ll use a peppermint epsom salt,” she explained.

Yup, LC is officially the life coach we never knew we needed.
