Coronavirus symptoms: 10-year-old girl diagnosed with the virus showed unusual symptoms

Coronavirus has put a halt to life as we know it. Now, a 10-year-old girl – confirmed to be infected with the virus – presented the unlikeliest symptoms of them all. What were they.

Plymouth Live reported they’ve been shown an email to parents and staff from a school – not being identified – about a pupil of theirs that has been diagnosed with coronavirus.

The 10-year-old was originally believed to be suffering from tonsillitis.

Suffering from no underlying health issues, it’s said she had convulsions.

Additionally, she had red, mottled skin, ulcers in her throat and “severe” pains in her legs.

True to well-documented symptoms, the child suffered from a fever – a shocking 41.6 degree Celsius.

But she didn’t have a new, continuous cough at all.

A number of schools caught wind of the news and the message circulating read: “The head teacher has spoken to her parents this morning and she is starting to be able to sit up and move around for short periods of time.

“Hopefully this is the beginning of her recovery. Antibiotics did not help with this virus and the parents have only been able to give her paracetamol.

“Please monitor your children and yourselves carefully for symptoms, stay at home and stay safe.”

As of 9am March 25th, Public Health England (PHE) confirmed 87,490 UK cases.

Although, it’s more than likely that there are far more unconfirmed cases throughout the UK.

Once available, this could help curb the spread of the infection – as immune workers will know whether or not they’re a risk to vulnerable people.

With unprecedented numbers of patients needing critical care beds within hospitals, the NHS is struggling to help everybody that comes through its doors.

Sadly, PHE has confirmed 463 patients have passed away who tested positive for the virus.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) adds shortness of breath is another symptom of coronavirus.

There are four signs the CDC confirm are emergency warning signs and needs medical attention.

This includes “trouble breathing, persistent pain or pressure in the chest, new confusion or inability to arouse, or bluish lips or face”.

In the UK, use the NHS 111 online service if you’re presenting symptoms of coronavirus.

Should you be suffering from a new, continuous cough or fever, the NHS instructs you to stay indoors for seven days.

If a fever subsides after these seven days, it’s permissible to leave your house for daily exercise and shopping for basic necessities.

Additionally, you may leave your home if it’s essential travel to and from work.

Moreover, you may go outside to attend to a medical need.
