Watch World’s Strongest Man Martins Licis Get Wrecked by Rapper Action Bronson’s Workout

Martins Licis might currently hold the title of World’s Strongest Man, but he has proven time and time again that he by no means limits his training to strongman events. Over on his YouTube channel, Licis has taken on all manner of workouts and fitness challenges with bodybuilder Eric Janicki, CrossFitter Chandler Smith, former football pro Vernon Davis and even the U.S. Army’s Green Berets.

In his most recent video, Licis meets up with rapper and actor Action Bronson, who has lost 130 pounds and embraced the world of fitness during the pandemic, for a grueling gym session at Dave Paladino’s Impact Zone gym in New Jersey.

Bronson starts by demonstrating his standard warmup routine to Licis: 30 kettlebell cleans (10 at 40 pounds, 10 at 60 pounds and 10 at 80 pounds on each arm), followed by a set of 15 elevated pushups. “Action’s a workhorse,” says Licis. “That already sucks.”

“I’m trying to build a body where I’m not just stiff, I want to be functional,” says Bronson, explaining the high-weight, high-rep approach he has adopted, and his focus on building mobility as well as strength.

Then it’s time for the workout proper, which includes 3 sets of 15 kettlebell rows (performed at 80 pounds for 4 rounds), followed by 4 sets of 12 35-pound side raises.

“That’s a lot of reps with no rest,” says Licis, joking that he might just puke. “Jesus Christ, dude, I need a juice box!”
