Watch Arnold Schwarzenegger Train in His Backyard During Quarantine

Arnold Schwarzenegger has been doing his part to stay home and encourage his followers to do the same during the coronavirus pandemic. But he doesn’t just want people to sit indoors doing nothing—the fitness legend wants his fans to get moving. He’s shared his iconic no-gym workout plan. And in his latest Instagram video, he’s encouraging his fans to keep getting fit while staying put.

“Stay at home, stay fit. We cannot control the virus but we can control our fitness,” he captioned his post.

Schwarzenegger starts the backyard video by pulling up in a vintage military truck (a Dodge M37, in case you’re wondering), grabbing a loaded EZ bar, and prepping for a quick lawn workout.

He starts off stretching out his hamstrings on the back of the trunk. Then, he grabs the EZ bar from his truck bed and moves onto some biceps curls, followed by a few ground-to-overhead lifts, and finally some bent-over rows.

“I came out here to exercise a little bit, and just kind of improvise,” he says. “Just to show you that improvisation is the important thing.”

“Just as long as you do something every day, that is the important thing: bike riding, pushups, situps. Find some little weights, find some bags, some water buckets or whatever it is, just so you have some resistance. Do it,” he says.

He does another series of bicep curls, ground-to-overhead lifts, and rows before packing it in. For a 72-year-old guy, it’s actually pretty impressive, Arnold or not. You might not have a giant truck full of equipment, but you can keep training at home too, using our live workouts and daily challenges to do what Schwarzenegger asks: just get moving.

“Let’s stay strong, let’s stay fit. Let’s train at home. Hasta la vista,” he says to end his video, before getting back in his truck and driving off. But don’t worry—he’ll be back.
