New Patented, Encapsulated Vitamin C Launches With BeautyStat

BeautyStat is bringing a new form of vitamin C to the beauty market.
With two products, BeautyStat Universal C Skin Refiner, $80, and Universal Pro-Bio Moisture Boost Cream, $45, BeautyStat is bringing a patented encapsulated delivery system for vitamin C to the market. The system is mean to eliminate oxidation and color change, and maintain the ingredient's potency, which is said to decline once oxidation sets in. The business has three patents.
The products are the first for BeautyStat, an influencer agency started by former product developer Ron Robinson. He teamed with Jules Zecchino, who formerly worked in R&D for the Estée Lauder Cos. Inc.
"We have to that are launching tomorrow and we plan on launching a full line capitalizing on what we consider to be a breakthrough, holy grail technology," Robinson said.
"We are looking at treatment masks, looking at potentially going into face — like makeup primers — and perhaps body. We're also looking at anti-acne," he said.
For now, BeautyStat will be online only, and Robinson said he expects the business to do $5 million in sales in year one. "We have a pretty aggressive media buying budget attached to this," Robinson said. The brand will also be promoted by Sam Schuerman, an influencer with 280,000 YouTube subscribers, he noted.
He's also opening to licensing the ingredient to other businesses, he said.
Several other vitamin C products have hit the market recently, including Volition's Strawberry-C Serum, which contains vitamin C from strawberry seed and fruit extract and kakadu plum, and Tatcha's Violet-C Brightening Serum, which combines the ingredient with alpha hydroxy acids.
